Elfie Returns

I never quite know when our elf, Elfie should return. I think last year he arrived on December 1st so that's what we are sticking with this year. Last year was our first year to introduce the elf so I'm not sure what Ellie will remember. We have talked about him this year so I know she will be excited to see him in the morning! He's arriving with a few treats and a special breakfast!

Thanksgiving Feast

Today was Ellie's Thanksgiving Feast at school. We had such a fun time! She told me all about The Mayflower and The First Thanksgiving!

Orr Family Farm

Earlier in October Ellie's entire school took a field trip to Orr Family Farm.  It was nice because you were free to do your own thing but that also made it hard to meet up/see any of the other families!  Right when we arrived we met up with Gibson and Claire…two of the other kids from her class.  We rode the hayride and picked pumpkins with them.  We had planned to then meet at the petting zoo after a quick bathroom break.  However, Ellie saw the ponies and wanted to go for a ride, Claire wanted to play on the playground and Gibson was ready to see the animals so we got split up at that point.  It was still a long fun day!

Halloween 2013

For Halloween this year Ellie wanted to be a cat….not just any cat but a WHITE cat.  She saw the kitty costume in Pottery Barn Kids and didn't stop talking about it for over a month.  I tried to get her to like other cat costumes (cheetah, black and white, etc) mainly because they were all significantly cheaper than the white kitty!  I also thought it would be easy to find a different WHITE costume but apparently not.  I waited until I had a coupon and just about missed out…all they had left was a size smaller than I would have typically ordered her! It was a LITTLE short but we made do with some thicker leggings.  I have to say it was pretty cute!

She had a carnival and party at school on Wednesday.  On Halloween we went to our local high school…if you donate a bag of candy you can trick or treat the hallways and then they have a carnival at the end for the kids!  She LOVED the bounce houses, bowling and the fishing game!  We had a great time and it starts early so we were still able to come home and pass out candy.
